Office/Computer lens with a Soft design and variable depth for desk, screen and room distances. It does not replace distance lenses for driving.
Application and design rationale
Vision for the desk and room
The table lists variable viewing depth from 33 cm to 4 m and automatic degression. Match this range to actual screen/workplace distances; it is not a driving design.

Design mechanism and features
Choosing working depth
WorkMax addresses near/intermediate office vision. Its overall stated range is 33 cm–4 m; the text also describes a selectable target of 0.5–4 m in 0.5 m steps. These describe overall range and adjustment options respectively.
Three working scenarios
The document gives examples of 1–1.5 m for desk/reading, 2–2.5 m for screens and close interaction, and 3–4 m for room space. Match them to actual equipment and wearer distances.
Automatic degression and distance-vision limits
Degression is Auto and power distribution follows working distance. WorkMax does not replace driving/infinity-distance lenses. Correct screen-zone positioning may support a more natural head posture without guaranteeing relief from neck problems.
Specified material
Although the general Allowed Materials table says All, the availability description and material table focus on Clear options; enquire about other versions.
Technologies in this design
- DuraBase
- Nominal-power calculations; also described as Nominal Power in the sources.
- Core Inset
- Standard automatic inset for near-zone positioning, as specified in the product table.
Measure before manufacture
Required parameters vary by design and must be recorded by a professional.
- Monocular PD
- Each eye's pupillary distance is recorded separately to align horizontal lens positioning with the visual axis.
- Fitting Height
- Fitting height is recorded on the adjusted frame in the natural position of wear; the required near zone must also fit within the frame.
- BVD
- Distance from the rear lens surface to the corneal apex; relevant to power-compensation calculations in personalised models.
- Pantoscopic Angle
- The frame's vertical tilt in the position of wear must be measured; example values are not substitutes for measurement.
- Wrap Angle
- The horizontal curvature of the frame relative to the face, describing lens positioning.
- Box A
- Horizontal width of the frame opening in the boxing system.
- Box B
- Vertical height of the frame opening in the boxing system.
- DBL
- Distance between the two lens boxes at the frame bridge.
- ED
- Effective diameter: twice the greatest distance from the boxing centre to the lens-shape edge, used for blank selection and edging calculations.
Design-specific inputs
- Working Distance / Depth Selection: specify the intended depth at ordering (0.5–4 m in 0.5 m steps); the software automatically calculates the required degression.
- Core Inset (0–4 mm): automatic horizontal displacement of the reading zone based on the defined working distance.

Monocular pupillary distance
For aligning the lens centre with each eye's visual axis.

Fitting height
Vertical pupil position relative to the frame in the position of wear.

Back vertex distance
One of the inputs describing the actual position of wear.
These are basic fitting parameters; additional inputs and the level of personalisation are specified for each model.
